Inspired by the majestic landscape of northern California, the collaborative team of Daniel Gwirtzman and Stefanos Milkidis filmed Sisyphus, a meditation on time, futility and work. Gwirtzman and Milkidis, who conceived and edited the film, update the Greek myth to show Sisyphus forever pushing a wheeled piece of farm machinery. As a metaphor for the endless difficulty of making art and living as artists, and as a commentary on the evolution of technology Sisyphus features Gwirtzman, an acclaimed choreographer and dancer, in the title role.
