Derek Crescenti is a performing and teaching artist originating from Detroit, Michigan. He has worked with Donald Byrd’s Spectrum Dance Theater, Keigwin + Company, 10 Hairy Legs, Mark Morris Dance Group, The Chase Brock Experience, Daniel Gwirtzman Dance Company, and Megan Williams Dance Projects. As an assistant to choreographer Donald Byrd, he acted as Rehearsal Associate during Mr. Byrd’s most recent commission for Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. He teaches masterclasses across the country and is on faculty at the Dance Department of DeSales University for Fall 2021. Derek holds a BFA from the University of Michigan and is currently obtaining a MFA from The University of Washington.
