COLIN MCKECHNIE

McKechnie Square.jpeg

Colin McKechnie is so excited to be a part of the premiere of Dance With Us with DGDC! He grew up always dancing around the house but it wasn’t until he was 13 until he traded playing sports for training in Ballet and Modern at Performing Arts Center of CT. By the first class he immediately felt the studio to be a place is where he was happiest and most free and that feeling has never left. Additionally it was extremely inspiring and grounding to grow up training at a studio surrounded by lots of male dancers to dance with and look up to, and this instilled a sense of empowerment and appreciation for what it means to be a male dancer.Having recently graduated from Ithaca College this spring with a BFA in Acting and minor in dance, he is also an actor for stage and screen. New York credits include: 22 (NY Summerfest), Ever Happily After (NYMF), and he is excited to be playing Tony in the film adaption of Stephen King’s I Know What You Need this summer. Thank you Daniel for this opportunity and to fellow dancers for being such a fun crew to share this process with — I miss dancing with you all! IG: @colinmckech
